Who am I: 8.6 out of 10 Starring: Jackie Chan Who am I is a movie that follows a character a named Jackie who loses his memory when a mission for the elite military unit to which he belongs goes wrong. He ends up stuck in South Africa lost and confused. He teams up with two women who help him toward his goal of finding out who he is and unraveling the mystery of why he was betrayed in the field. Any number of people want Jackie dead and it’s just a matter of time before he has to face them. His struggle leads him to Rotterdam where he finds out about the secret extremely reactive element that he was betrayed for. The movie builds up to a heart pounding final fight in which Jackie is pitted against two excellent martial artist thugs. The scene ends with one of the finest stunts I have seen. I SUGGEST YOU WATCH FOR: crazy legs, nuff said, vertical split, unbelievable! Also, look for Jackie sliding across the street in his clogs, he gets missed by a semi truck by about 6 inches!!! THE BEST FIGHT: This is truly one of the greatest fights there is on film! At the end, on the holding company rooftop in Rotterdam, Jackie is pitted against the slim kicking machine I call crazy legs and the other earring wearing quick-handed fighter. The fight is long, and makes the whole film about 500% better. Since most of the best footage in the movie is in the last half-hour, some might suggest that you watch only that. However, your enjoyment of that last scene is enhanced by the buildup through the entire movie. Jackie is effectively developed as the underdog. And if you like kung fu movies as much as I do, you’ll feel almost like you’re in the fight yourself! |
